ICYMI: Select Committee Spotlights Chinese Military Companies on New Department of Defense Blacklist

WASHINGTON DC — This week, the Department of Defense (DoD) blacklisted dozens of Chinese companies operating in the U.S. that are a part of the People's Republic of China's military apparatus. Over the last two years, through investigations, reports, and legislation, the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party put a spotlight on over 70% of the Chinese companies on the latest iteration of the DoD blacklist.

In case you missed it, Select Committee Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) joined Fox Business to discuss the blacklist and its implications for U.S. national security.

 

Moolenaar on the DoD Blacklist:

"I applaud this new listing – we should not be allowing these Chinese defense related companies to partner with our companies, and we certainly shouldn't be using taxpayer dollars to fund countries that could be, as an adversary, working against our own military. And so, this is long overdue, but it's a step in the right direction. It highlights areas of key technology, whether it's drones or semiconductors. We shouldn't be allowing our infrastructure, especially our military infrastructure, to be dependent on the Chinese Communist Party."
