HEARING POSTPONED, UPDATED AGENDA: Select Committee Tours Bioworks Foundry & Joins Harvard JFK Forum
BOSTON, MA - A bipartisan delegation of congressional representatives from the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party are in Boston today to meet with leaders of the U.S. biotechnology industry to discuss the Chinese Communist Party threat to U.S. biosecurity and how U.S. companies can better compete on the global stage.
However, the hearing planned for Tuesday will be postponed until further notice.
Chairman Mike Gallagher (R-WI), Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), Reps. Darin LaHood (R-IL), Seth Moulton (D-MA), Neal Dunn (R-FL), and Jake Auchincloss (D-MA) will participate in the event below. Please note the updated time for the Institute of Politics JFK Forum.
Three events will be open to members of the press. Photography and videography are welcome.

Event: Ginkgo Bioworks Foundry Tour with Members of Congress
When: Monday, February 12 at 2:50 p.m. ET
Where: Boston Seaport
Details: Members will receive a tour of the Foundry at Ginkgo Bioworks. Ginkgo's CEO, Jason Kelly, will lead a tour of the 300,000+ sq. ft. lab space and share more about the company's R&D services and steps to accelerate the bioeconomy and strengthen biosecurity. A select number of spots on the tour have been reserved for credentialed members of the press. Photography and videography are welcome at certain points of the tour. There will be a press availability with members and Dr. Kelly at the conclusion of the tour.

Details: A special conversation with Mike Gallagher and Raja Krishnamoorthi, the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party. This conversation will be moderated by former Assistant Secretary of Defense and Douglas Dillon Professor of Government Graham Allison, and Director of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs Meghan O'Sullivan. Chairman Gallagher and Ranking Member Krishnamoorthi will be available for press following the discussion.
