MEDIA ADVISORY: "The Future of Hong Kong" - Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party Holds Roundtable

WASHINGTON D.C. -- The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party will hold a roundtable titled "The Future of Hong Kong: U.S. Policy Going Forward" on May 23rd at 2:30 p.m., E.T. in Room HC-5 of the U.S. Capitol Building.

In the roundtable, lawmakers and experts will address the Hong Kong government’s prosecution of pro-democracy activists and its transnational repression on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party, the implication of deteriorating rule of law in Hong Kong to the United States, and how the United States government should respond to what is happening in Hong Kong.

The experts participating in the roundtable include:

  • Jonathan Price, Member of Jimmy Lai's Legal Team
  • Frances Hui, The Committee for Freedom in Hong Kong Foundation
  • Joey Siu, Hong Kong Activist

When: Thursday, May 23rd, 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. E.T.

Where: HC-5, U.S. Capitol Building.

The event will be live-streamed on the Select Committee's website and social media.
