Chairman Moolenaar on Huawei's Secret Funding of American Universities

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Chairman John Moolenaar (R-MI) released the following statement on the news that Huawei has secretly funded research at American universities like Harvard through an independent foundation.

“Huawei has shown time and time again that its presence in America is a national security risk, and now here it is again, tricking Americans into giving up their latest innovations and research to a company at the beck and call of the Chinese Communist Party. We need to suspend all export licenses to Huawei and consider further steps like placing Huawei on the Specifically Designated National (SDN) list.”
