The Chinese Communist Party’s entire rule is based on lies. Its economic statistics are false. Its Covid19 data was false. Its history, including that of June 4th, 1989, is false. And the CCP’s denial of their ongoing genocide in Xinjiang is false. It may be their greatest lie.

That is why the CCP finds the work of Radio Free Asia so threatening. It understands the power of truth. 

A Great Firewall has been utilized to isolate the Chinese people behind an Iron Curtain of censorship. Over a million people work monitoring internet posts for wrongthink. 

The CCP seeks to control what anyone else can hear about China. It spends billions each year on global propaganda. 

The party pressures foreign companies to censor their employees when they express critical views. Foreign executives in China are forced to study “Xi Jinping thought.”

For 27 years, Radio Free Asia has stood strong against an onslaught of censorship which has silenced the NBA, Disney, many American universities, and much of corporate America. 

Like their predecessors in Radio Free Europe who broadcast behind the Iron Curtain to millions huddled around hidden radios, RFA provides hope. 

For Chinese dissidents, Tibetans, Muslim Uyghurs, and for everyone whose life depends on the truth being known.  

The Great Firewall will eventually fall, just like the Iron Curtain. When it does, it will be in no small part due to the efforts of those here tonight at Radio Free Asia.
